Mt. Tamalpais, or "Mount Tam" as it's known to the locals in the San Francisco bay area, provides a hiking experience unlike any in New England. The trails are narrow dirt paths about a foot wide that wind and cut through fields of dried out grass. While the summer sun had taken it's toll on the grass, the trees were a lush green and looked beautiful with the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop.
