There are no mountain peaks at Halibut Point, but the visitor gets the double experience of a historic granite quarry (now filled with rain water) and the fabulous Rockport seacoast.

Babson Farm Quarry

You enter the park through a natural tunnel created by vines. You can then follow the map and visit a dozen or so historic remains from the Babson Farm Quarry. The quarry itself is home to many types of birds and fish and is really beautiful.

After you're done enjoying the quarry, take one of the trails that go toward the rocky coast. Fishing and sunbathing are popular here (for those few who know about the place). You can keep your hike going right along the coast as the rocks have been flattened by centuries of pounding waves. Halibut Point is a wonderful place to enjoy nature and history at the same time.
