My first trip to Florida was in 1998 when I went to visit my buddy Shawn for a 4-day weekend. The trip was highlighted by a visit to Disney World and a visit to the Breakers Resort in West Palm Beach. Disney was amazing... the level of detail that is shown is unbelievable, as is the money they suck out of you. Shawn's home was in Vero Beach, Florida, a lovely town on the Treasure Coast. It had the best movie theater I've ever been to.

We stayed at the Breakers Resort for one night, courtesy of the company our friend Randy was working for at the time. The Breakers is a spectacular hotel, popular among Bostonians. On the grounds, one can find world class accomodations including a golf course, swimming pool, croquet court, and horseshoe pits. The bar in the lounge is actually a salt water aquarium! We also rented some bicycles and explored the area.

My second trip to Florida was for Shawn's wedding. Jeff, Rob, Eric, Sue, Randy, Jen, and I flew down for a few days and stayed at the spectacular Plantation Marriott. Our room had an awesome balcony that faced the Atlantic and there was a great pool right outside, with the beach in the back. It was a wonderful, relaxing time in the Florida sunshine.
