Mount of Beatitudes & Fish Lunch
Later in the day, we visited the Mount of Beatitudes. It was here that I first felt connected to Israel. Pastor Ray and his wife Trish taught from the Sermon on the Mount which can be found in Matthew chapters 5-7. They reiterated the words that Jesus spoke in this very place nearly 2000 years ago. Although the rain began falling, I hardly noticed as I rested in the knowledge that I don't have to worry about my life, as Jesus taught, because God will take care of me.
After our visit to the Mt. of Beatitudes, we had lunch at the Ein Gev Kibbutz Restaurant. Soup, cole slaw, and spicy sauces preceded St. Peter's Fish -- the most unappetizing meal you've ever seen. The fish is cooked head, scales, fins and all. Thankfully, it tasted a little better than it looks.
