Megiddo
After visiting the catacombs at Beit Shearim, we navigated through the Jezreel Valley to Megiddo which means "place of troops." It is the remains of a city that has been reconstructed at least 20 times dating back to 3000 B.C.. The highlight was a spectacular view of the valley of Armageddon.

Historically, travellers coming from all routes had to pass through Megiddo because of the Arabian Desert in the East and the Mediterranean in the West. It was a critical crossroads, and thus its control was coveted. The final battle on earth may take place here.
